Fries Museum: Redbad

For the Fries Museum, we produced the complete audio production for the campaign surrounding its exhibition about King Redbad. From voice casting and recording to original music, sound design, mixing, and mastering for both television and radio, every element was created to support the scale and intensity of the story.

For the music, we wanted to build an epic atmosphere that reflected Redbad’s status, strength, and ferocity. Acoustic drums formed an important part of the score, creating a driving, almost warlike energy. We also sampled an ancient Nordic wind instrument historically associated with battle calls, using its raw character to reinforce the sense of ritual and conflict.

To give the music a stronger connection to the period, we researched musical traditions and instrumentation associated with the era and incorporated elements with Celtic and early European influences. Voices, percussion, and organic textures were layered together to create a sound world that feels both ancient and cinematic.

The sound design was built closely around the animation. Movements were reinforced with impacts, swords, battle sounds, and detailed sonic accents that supported both what was happening on screen and what was being described in the voice-over. Rather than simply adding effects, the aim was to make every movement feel heavier, more physical, and more dramatic.

Every musical and sound design decision was made with the same objective: to evoke the scale of the past, the ferocity of Redbad, and the feeling of a story that has grown into legend.

Finally, we brought the voice-over, music, and sound design together in the final mix and mastered dedicated versions for television and radio, ensuring the campaign retained its impact across both formats.
